Embracing Your Inner Child

By

I have found a way to keep all the chaos of the current world at bay. It’s not complex or difficult, it is really just going ‘within’ yourself. I have found meditation to be SO helpful for ne. But you can also speak to God and commune with him. Or the spirit you are aligned with. But that is just the vessel. It is intended to take you on a journey. A journey of self and inner reflection.

My personal place of peace, is finding and embracing my inner child. Some say it is the same as simply staying in tune with your own soul. Because all that spontaneity, excitement, giddiness, euphoria about life…all the great things you felt as a young child, it remains with you. So many of us lose track of those beautiful feelings, that made us look forward to the next bend in our path. Do you remember the excitement of waking up Christmas morning and finding gifts to enrich your life? It’s that energy and emotion I’m talking about.

It IS still inside every one of us! It never dies, it just gets pushed back into the furthest reaches of our minds. When you keep hearing “Grow up”, and you start down the road to adulthood, it’s so easy to forget where you packed those feelings away. But they ARE there, waiting to inspire you again….and they want to! As humans we place all our adult emotions into providing or sustaining our lives and loved ones. That’s how it should be, no one questions that. But that is NOT the only part of life.

No matter how busy I get, I always try to take the time to commune with God and my spirit. Joy is a huge component of my life. And that is my emotion for great mental health and clarity. Not only does it keep things in perspective. It also makes my spirit soar back to the skies, even in my lowest times. We have to give our heart, mind and spirit nourishment, as much as we give our body fuel. Without it, you will find yourself without fresh ideas, or visions of the next step in our life journey.

Remember to feed that inner child. Let it run wild and free at times, to refresh you for when your feet need to be firmly planted on the ground. Nourish….yourself. I think you will find a new love of life and all the possibilities that lie ahead. It’s all really, one big adventure.
